Medlink Conference, 28th January 2012

This event in London made me even keener on medicine. Here, I was taught how to use a stethoscope and measure a pulse, as well as having talks from medicine lecturers, admissions tutors, and medical students. Nothing about medicine was sugar coated (although at the age of thirteen I probably didn’t quite understand what was meant by a “very tough workload”), but the scope for learning about the human body, patient contact, and research really appealed to me. It was there that it was impressed on me how important work experience is.
